A New Outlook

Welcome 2018, and welcome to a new outlook on my life!

With the end of 2017 in the books, I took some time to look back on my first semester of college. During my first semester I discovered what college was all about and how everything functions. Well, now that the first semester is done I have come to realize a few things; for starters, college is not as difficult as I imagined it would be, but it is definitely not easy. Taking a new step in life, such as college, can come with some challenges. Going to college in a different state is even more taxing. Challenges are not necessarily bad as they can lead you to new adventures and experiences. Moving from Arizona to Oklahoma was not only a scenery change but a culture change. However, I have been lucky enough to be able to explore my now second home and assimilate with the help of my teammates.

With a semester of college behind me, I have realized I truly have such a great support system consisting of my family, friends, and golf team. When the new year rang in I really wanted to think of a New Year's resolution that I have never contemplated before. With this being said, I decided that since I am living on my own now, it is important for me to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. I decided that my New Year's resolution would be: 1. Workout at least five times a week 2. Try to eat healthier 3. Write down short and long term goals every week 4. Get ahead; no procastination 5. Live each day to the fullest and appreciate what you have.

The reasons behind these New Year's resolutions and goals are to try and live a better way of life. From the almost five months that I have been in college I have learned that taking care of myself is vitally important. While working out and eating healthier is good for everyone, this was a specific goal for me as it allows me to feel good about myself as well as benefit me since I am a collegiate athlete. I discovered that instead of mentally creating goals, writing down goals has motivated me more and lead me to have more success in what I want to accomplish. Because I am a student-athelete, it is vital for me to have good time management and to not procrastinate. Getting ahead on work is not only beneficial academically but also mentally as it relieves me from unnecessary stress. Finally, my fifth resolution encourages me to live a happy and positive life by appreciating what I have. This is the key to a healthy lifestyle.

I am so ecstatic to see what the future holds and I am so excited to blog and share with you all my new adventures! Let's do this 2018.
