Homemade Peppermint Bark

The holidays are a great excuse to bake! We tried out this peppermint bark recipe and love how it turned out.

What you need for the recipe:

8 oz semi sweet or dark chocolate

8 oz white chocolate

Canola Oil

Peppermint Extract

Peppermint candies (we used candy canes)

Directions:

  • Grease 9 x 9 baking sheet & cover with wax paper

  • Pour semi sweet chocolate into microwave safe bowl

  • Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil to the bowl

  • Microwave in 1 minute intervals & stir

  • Repeat until fully melted

  • When fully melted, stir in 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

  • Spread evenly over baking sheet & place in refrigerator for 1 hour

  • Pour white chocolate into microwave safe bowl

  • Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil to the bowl

  • Repeat melting process with white chocolate

  • Mix in 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract with white chocolate

  • Spread evenly over semi sweet chocolate

  • Break up peppermint candies & sprinkle over white chocolate

  • Put in freezer for 2-3 hours or until frozen solid

  • Break up the bark & enjoy!!
