Homemade Peppermint Bark

The holidays are a great excuse to bake! We tried out this peppermint bark recipe and love how it turned out.
What you need for the recipe:
8 oz semi sweet or dark chocolate
8 oz white chocolate
Canola Oil
Peppermint Extract
Peppermint candies (we used candy canes)
Directions:
Grease 9 x 9 baking sheet & cover with wax paper
Pour semi sweet chocolate into microwave safe bowl
Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil to the bowl
Microwave in 1 minute intervals & stir
Repeat until fully melted
When fully melted, stir in 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
Spread evenly over baking sheet & place in refrigerator for 1 hour
Pour white chocolate into microwave safe bowl
Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil to the bowl
Repeat melting process with white chocolate
Mix in 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract with white chocolate
Spread evenly over semi sweet chocolate
Break up peppermint candies & sprinkle over white chocolate
Put in freezer for 2-3 hours or until frozen solid
Break up the bark & enjoy!!
