How to Decorate Your Dorm (for cheap!!)

College is expensive as it is. Tuition, room and board, and school supplies add up quick. On top of that, you still have to decorate your dorm! Here are some ways to decorate without breaking your bank account.

1. Amazon Prime

First of all, if you are a college student and aren't already taking advantage of FREE Amazon Prime, you need to get on that! Amazon Prime is the best way to get packages fast and with free shipping!! This isn't sponsored, but Amazon if you're reading this, we wouldn't decline ;).

2. Printing Pictures

Bring a piece of home with you! Printing pictures to your nearest Walgreens or Walmart is a great way to bring memories and familiar faces with you to college. I got a collection of pictures I loved, turned them all B&W and hung them on my wall using command sticky strips! It is a great way to take up space on the wall in an organized way, and it looks super cute.

3. Take Advantage of Class Facebook Pages

Before going to college, I joined an Auburn '21 Facebook page. Older girls from Auburn joined as well and began posting about selling their furniture. Desk shelves can be found on Dorm Decor for about $270, but I got my bed shelf and desk shelf together for $100 when buying from a Junior who used them previously! Either way you buy them, they are very useful to store all of the things you slowly accumulate in college.

4. Lights

Okay, back on track. Using Amazon Prime is a good way to order things to your dorm, such as string lights. I got this set of string lights for $10, and it makes the room look so comfy and cute! Lamps can also be found for pretty cheap, and are a good way to fill space while providing another light source.

5. Free Printouts!!

Printing off free prints and hanging them on your wall is another great way to decorate for cheap. All you have to pay for is printer paper! I have included below some of the prints I have hanging on my wall.

6. Greenery

Adding a little bit of life to your dorm will not only add cute decoration, but help to freshen up the space! Cactus or succulents are great because they don't require a lot of attention to live a long time. These plants can normally be found at Walmart or nearby flower shops for a cheap price! Adding a cute pot will also be a nice touch of decor.
